Hello!

I’m Taylor a part-time blogger, professional airport loiterer and full time dreamer from Perth, Western Australia.

My passions are travel, food and pretty things!  When I’m not writing aviation lifestyle posts, and travel diaries on my blog you can find my colourful posts on Instagram (mostly of puppies, food and travels), planning trips to of all the places I want to visit next!

The aim of this blog was to keep in contact with family and friends since moving to Dubai and back again, after becoming a flight attendant for a major Middle Eastern Airline. I’d also like to share the experiences in my life with other like-minded people. Now I am based in Perth once more, and working for an Iconic Australian Airline instead!

I enjoy reading, writing, travel, foreign films, cooking, the beach, shopping, the odd visit to the gym, Pilates and of course spending time with my loved ones. If this sounds like you, please feel free to follow me!

Oh and also, please note: The views expressed on this blog are my own, and do not represent the views of the company I work for in any way.

  1. Hello !
I was looking at your blog but I see you don’t post anymore, you only talk about the before and it’s not the most interesting but I’m sure you don’t have much time to post !!

  2. Hi there 🙂 I have been reading your blog and loving it; I am an Emirates hopeful and you have some great information here. Plus your blog theme is just the cutest 😉

If you don’t mind me asking, what is the longest layover that you can get with Emirates? I am under the impression that 24h is the standard, but after seeing some of your posts realized you can be so lucky as to get 2 or 3 days which is amazing! Are there any destinations with longer layovers than these?

    Thanks in advance!

    • Hi Silvia 🙂 Thank you for reading and thank you even more for loving it! It’e been a bit of a hobby that other people have started to enjoy, too! I personalised the theme 😉 The longest layovers I have had so far have been 48 hours (3 days of being there but 2 days to explore) in Munich and also Paris! (a post is coming up about that soon) There are also multi-sector trips in which you have 5-9 days off base on say a SYD-BKK-CHC trip, where you have 24-48 hours in each place, but you are away for more than a week! I’m yet to do one of these huge trips, but fingers crossed! I believe some US layovers are 72 hours, such as Toronto, because of the distance and timezones crossed. I don’t have my US visa yet, either 😦 soon I hope! I hope this is helpful, and good luck for the future 😀

      • Thanks for your answer, it was helpful! Those multi-sector trips look like a blast… must be pretty exhausting as well though!

Regarding the US visa, how do you go about getting one? I’ll be honest, I thought you could fly anywhere from the moment you became crew, I had no idea there were special requirements for the US. I’ve read about there being a “team” of cabin crew who has the visa and Emirates just selects people to get it when they need some new staff to be able to fly to the US. Not sure if that is accurate…

Thanks again for your help (and patience!) 😉

      • It’s funny that you should ask because I was just rostered to get my visa next month! It depends on how many crew the company needs to fly to the US, and now they need me, yay 🙂

  3. Hi Taylor,
I just came across your blog yesterday and I absolutely love it. From what I’ve read I can already say you must have a great personality and once I get the job at your airline (hopefully) I hope to meet you on board and spend some great layovers hanging out and exploring with you! :)) I know I am being a bit idealistic now but seriously, you are awesome. I wish you all the best and hope to read lots of new posts from you!

  4. Hello! I really like your blog. I am interested in applying to Emirates as cabin crew and was wondering whether I could ask you some questions if you have some time. My email is vanzoelen@gmail.com Let me know!

    • Hi Jan 🙂 Thank you that’s very kind! I would love to answer your questions via email, of course the answers would be based on my personal experience, but if you still want to hear them then I am happy to help!

  5. Hello! I LOVE your blog. I am actually about to become an FA with a middle eastern airline, that’s how I found this blog. It has made me more excited reading everything you have posted. So I have a question- how did you create your blog? I love your layout and how you edit your pictures etc. 🙂 thanks in advance! xx

    • Hi Sofia! Thank you 🙂 and thanks for reading! Congratulations! My blog is with wordpress.com, but there are other websites such as blogspot and bloglovin’ also. You can chose a theme, or customise one yourself which is what I have done. Best of luck on your journey 🙂 x

      • Thank you for your fast reply!
Do you edit your pictures a certain way? They always look so lovely. 🙂
