Just a quick little update. My head is still up in the clouds, but my feet have been firmly planted on the ground. I have been working hard to achieve a few goals in the past 8 weeks, particularly while I wait for certain things to happen that are beyond my control. It has also distracted me from my upcoming trip to Athens, Greek Islands, Paris and London, with a quick little visit to my old home away from home, Dubai. Now the departure dates looms next week!
Say what you will, but I am a slight control freak, and I don’t particularly like it when things don’t go my way. That is how I ended up flying in the first place- I missed one opportunity because it was out of my control, so I look a leap of faith, jumped on a plane to the other side of the country and then 6 months after that boarded another aircraft to a new life in the Middle East.
The same thing is happening now. I can’t help it if minor details (such as ground school!) have been postponed because of things that are beyond my control (my guess is on the current economic climate). In the meantime, I’m working my way from the ground up and it feels pretty damn good. Part of this “me” makeover is spending time to exercise and eat healthy seeing as I pretty much ate my way around the world for the best part of 16 months!
I’ve been sticking to the Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide and although the results were a little hard to see in the beginning, I’m very happy with the progress…Santorini here I come! We’ve been eating super healthy and I’ve been cooking up a (gluten free, sometimes raw, and sometimes downright unhealthy) storm and I feel lean and stronger, which is a big plus! Everything in moderation (that still includes a bit of bacon, some chocolate and of course pizza!)
Anyway, I had better get back to writing my latest article for Go Cabin Crew and packing (yes, ex cabin crew still need time to pack- this is not a layover but a month long trip! A multi multi sector if you will…
Disclaimer: This was written over a week ago when I was still preparing for our trip. Now, I post this from our apartment in Athens during “siesta” time!
