Happy Graduation to me!

Happy Graduation to me!

June has been a really great month for me. Not only was it my second top bid, but I had a flight home to Perth and also some of my family came to visit me in Dubai for my graduation! Our Airline has a special ceremony to celebrate the end of our six month probation period, and our official welcome into the “family”.

Before my official welcome could happen, I had to work one more flight…and it didn’t even feel like work because it was a flight home! Actually, that’s a bit of a stretch, it still felt like work because it was a bumpy flight with lots of (very cute but very unsettled) babies that were a bit scared, so trying to settle everyone took some time! As per usual, I was very happy for James to pick me up, and even though we only had a few hours together (he had exams to prepare for) it was just what I needed 🙂 The next day I went and spent some time with my parents and grandparents, which I always look forward to on my layovers. After that, my mum and I went food shopping (one of my absolute favourite pass times)! She is the best, we stocked up on EVERYTHING, caught up on gossip and even managed to sneak in a glass of red afterwards at the Peasant’s Table, our local artisan restaurant that is pretty pricey but has pretty yummy food, too! After that it was an early night in front of my beloved foxtel after some pumpkin soup so I could be ready for my ‘special’ passengers the next day. After a seamless check in, we had some tea and I said my goodbyes, then it was time to go and do my job…on the same flight as my dad and step mum! It was actually so busy that I barely had time to check on them in the beginning, and it was a bit bumpy so I was worried about Britt. In the end, I needn’t have worried, when I went back to check she was cool as a cucumber 😀

Once we landed, we freshened up and went to my favourite Lebanese restaurant at Dubai Mall for dinner. By 9pm my eyes were hanging out of my head and I could barely stand up… In my defence, that was pretty much the earliest night we had, the week was full of going out for meals, being a tour guide, exploring old Dubai and introducing my “families” (from home and in Dubai). Graduation was a special day and will be etched in my mind forever! It was great to see how far we had all come and how optimistic the future is for us. There was lots of reflection and acknowledgement of our hard work (mine included!) and all in all I think everyone and their families were really proud! Thank you to all of my family and friends for their support during these past 6 months and to my parents and James for their never ending patience 🙂 Also my to my friends in Dubai, who have become my family…I’d never survive without you!  xxx

p.s: I’m trying to catch up on all my posts, it’s been a busy few weeks of leave, including multiple outdoorsy activities such as sea kayaking, whale watching, paddle boarding, regular kayaking, way too much bike riding and one of my craziest feats yet… BUNGEE JUMPING! more about those coming up 😉
