Jane, Taylor & David’s Goliath!

A bit of belated blogging is much needed, seeing as I have just come back from leave and the a direct Sydney flight, I am quite knackered and have taken time out from doing my washing and watching chick flicks to write some posts! I’ve been a bit homesick since I came back from leave, to be honest, and so I am hoping this distracts/ occupies me/ cheers me up! Flying is not all as glamorous as it seems 😉

The next flight on my list of adventures is Frankfurt. I have only been to Germany once before, when James and I went on our big European trip a few years ago. We had about a week in Berlin, and it was amazing! I was happy to be going back to Deutschland as I had enjoyed it so much last time. Frankfurt has some mixed opinions with crew, so I was keen to see for myself. It wasn’t quite what I had thought, but it was lots of fun nonetheless! I knew I would have a great time no matter what the layover, as my friend Jane was there for a layover on the same day.

After I finally got my new roster (and it was pretty awesome might I add) I rugged up and met Jane downstairs. We bumped into some of the crew from my flight that I had flown with before, and we all decided to head into town. The direction that we were going in was debateable, and we must’ve walked for about 2 hours looking for Römer, the old town in Frankfurt. We eventually found it, but not before we wandered around the shops, ate pretzels, cookies, schnitzels, bratwurst sausages and sauerkraut. Yum! We also saw some typical German architecure, which was a shopping centre with a huge escalator going through the middle of it from bottom to top, non stop! It went up about 5 floors, and the ceiling curved around it. It was made entirely of glass and very, very impressive. After some food shopping and more walking around, we called it a day and headed back to the hotel so we could rest before a nice flight back to Dubai. It ended up being one of my best flights yet, the crew were amazing and the customers were very cheery and laidback. Perfect! Then I had a nice big rest, Jane and I went and did more shopping, and I prepared for my next flight: Manchester!
